ByteCube, developed by Bytecove Software ("we," "our," or "us"), is a 3D take on the 2048 merge puzzle, available to play free in your web browser and as an iPhone app. We care about your privacy and keep the data we handle to a minimum. This policy explains what is collected and why.
By default, ByteCube keeps your data locally — there is no account to create.
The worldwide leaderboard is optional. Information is sent to our leaderboard server only when you choose to post a score:
This data is used solely to display the leaderboard (an app-functionality purpose). It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and it is not linked to your real-world identity.
The iPhone app shows ads through Google AdMob unless you remove ads (see below). AdMob may process device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads. In the EEA and UK we present Google's consent (UMP) form, and on iOS we request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking occurs. The free browser demo does not show AdMob ads.
On iPhone you may optionally use Sign in with Apple. It provides a user identifier and the name you choose to share, used only to attribute your leaderboard entries. We do not receive your password, and you can use a private relay email.
The optional Remove Ads subscription is processed by Apple through StoreKit. We verify your subscription status through Apple to grant the ad-free benefit; we never see or store your payment details. A 7-day daily-challenge streak also grants 7 days ad-free at no cost.
ByteCube is rated for ages 4+ and is not directed at children under 13 for data-collection purposes. The iPhone app may display ads via AdMob as described above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
