WordBrew, developed by Bytecove Software ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally

• Game Progress: Your level completion, stars earned, tea leaves balance, hints, power-ups, and bonus words are stored locally on your device.
• Cosmetic Preferences: Equipped tile themes, trail effects, wheel skins, completion animations, tea cups, font styles, and sound packs are stored locally on your device.
• Shop Purchases: Records of in-game items purchased with tea leaves are stored locally on your device.

Information Collected via Sign in with Apple (Optional)

• Apple ID Identifier: If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier from Apple to associate your cloud-synced progress. We do not receive your email address unless you choose to share it.
• Display Name: If provided during sign-in, your name is stored locally for display purposes only.

Information Stored in iCloud (Optional)

• If you sign in with Apple, your game progress (levels completed, stars, tea leaves, unlocked cosmetics, power-ups) is synced to your private iCloud container via Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Information Collected by Third Parties

• Google AdMob: We display advertisements through Google AdMob. Google may collect the following data for the purpose of serving personalized or contextual advertisements:
  • Device Identifiers: Advertising identifier (IDFA) for ad personalization and measurement
  • Coarse Location: Approximate location derived from IP address for regional ad targeting
  • Usage Data: Ad interaction data (views, taps) for analytics and ad performance measurement
  • Advertising Data: Information about which ads were shown and interacted with

  This data is collected by Google and is not linked to your identity by us. You can manage ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). Purchasing "Remove Ads" ($2.99) permanently eliminates all third-party ad data collection. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details.

• Apple StoreKit: We use Apple's StoreKit framework for in-app purchase verification. Apple's privacy practices apply. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your email address (unless voluntarily shared via Sign in with Apple)
• We do not require account creation to play the game
• We do not use our own analytics or tracking systems
• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties

How We Use Your Information

• To save and restore your game progress locally and across devices (via iCloud)
• To manage your in-game currency (tea leaves), purchased cosmetics, and power-ups
• To verify in-app purchase status through Apple StoreKit
• To display advertisements through Google AdMob

Data Storage and Security

• Local game data is stored using standard iOS storage mechanisms (UserDefaults)
• Cloud-synced data is stored in your private iCloud container via CloudKit, encrypted by Apple
• We do not maintain our own servers or databases containing your personal information
• Ad-related data collection is handled entirely by Google AdMob

Data Retention

• Local data persists until you delete the app
• iCloud data persists until you delete your account through the app's Settings
• Ad-related data retention is governed by Google's policies

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete all local data by uninstalling the app
• Delete your cloud data using the "Delete Account" option in the app's Settings
• Opt out of personalized ads through your device's privacy settings
• Choose not to sign in with Apple and play entirely offline
• Purchase ad removal ($2.99) to eliminate all third-party ad data collection

Children's Privacy

WordBrew does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The game does not require account creation to play. Sign in with Apple is optional and requires an Apple ID. In-app purchases require Apple ID authentication, which is subject to parental controls.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
