PlateFlow, developed by Bytecove Software ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Apple ID Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address and name.
- Profile Data: Diet preferences, allergies, nutrition targets, cooking preferences, and household size that you provide during onboarding.
- Nutrition Logs: Meals you log, water intake, and other nutrition tracking data.
- Favorite Recipes: Recipes you save to your favorites.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We track meal plan generation counts to manage subscription limits. This data is synced to your iCloud account.
- Subscription Status: We verify your subscription status through Apple's StoreKit framework.
Information from Third Parties
- Barcode Data: When you scan food barcodes, we query the Open Food Facts database to retrieve product nutrition information.

- To generate personalized AI meal plans based on your dietary preferences
- To create smart grocery lists from your meal plans
- To track your nutrition and display progress
- To process your subscription and manage your account

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): Your dietary preferences and requirements are sent to Claude AI to generate personalized meal plans. We do not send any personally identifiable information. Please review Anthropic's Privacy Policy for more information.
- Apple CloudKit: Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account. Apple's privacy practices apply to this storage.
- Apple StoreKit: We use Apple's StoreKit for subscription management.
- Open Food Facts: Barcode lookups query the Open Food Facts open database. No personal information is sent.
iCloud Data Sync
We use Apple's iCloud service to sync your meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, and preferences across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us. Your data remains under your control through your Apple ID and iCloud settings. We cannot access, view, or retrieve your synced data.
Data Storage and Security
- Your profile, preferences, and nutrition data are stored in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit
- Data syncs automatically across your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account
- We do not maintain our own database of your personal information
- All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard protocols
- Meal plan generation requests do not include your name or contact information
Data Retention
- Your data remains in your iCloud account until you delete it
- Deleting your account removes all data from our systems
- Generated meal plans are stored locally and in your iCloud account
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data through the app at any time
- Export your meal plans and grocery lists as PDF or text
- Delete your account and all associated data through the app settings
- Request information about data we process
- Opt out of data collection by uninstalling the app
Children's Privacy
PlateFlow is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
