Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect when you visit bytecovesoftware.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what you choose to send us through our contact form, and we run no analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
Who we are
"Bytecove Software" ("we," "us," or "our") is a software studio based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This policy applies to the marketing website at www.bytecovesoftware.com. Our individual applications — such as FieldCalc Pro, PlateFlow, WordBrew, and Blox Breaker — have their own privacy policies that govern those apps; this policy does not cover them.
Information we collect
Information you give us
We only receive personal information from you when you choose to send it. Specifically:
- Contact form. When you submit the form on our site, we collect your name and email address (required), and, if you choose to provide them, your company, phone number, and the message you write. We use this solely to read and respond to your inquiry.
- Scheduling a call. If you choose to book a call, you are taken to our scheduling provider, Calendly, where any details you enter (such as your name, email, and meeting notes) are handled under Calendly's own privacy policy.
- Direct email. If you email us, we receive whatever information is contained in your message.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our site is served through a third-party static hosting provider, which may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the files requested. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and keeping the site online — not to identify you.
- No analytics or advertising. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, behavioral trackers, or similar tools on this website. We do not build profiles of visitors.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies of its own for tracking, analytics, or advertising. See our Cookie & Tracking Notice for the full detail on the limited third-party services involved.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your message, question, or request for a quote;
- Discuss, scope, and provide services you ask us about;
- Keep our own records of who we have communicated with; and
- Operate, secure, and maintain the website.
We do not use your information for automated marketing sequences, and we do not send unsolicited promotional email. Where the law requires a legal basis to process personal information, we rely on your consent (when you submit a form), our legitimate interest in responding to and managing inquiries, and, where applicable, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we never have. We share information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers. We use a small number of vendors to operate the site (see below). They process information only to provide their service to us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Bytecove Software or others.
- Business transfer. If the business is ever sold or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Third-party services we rely on
- Formspree — delivers our contact-form submissions to our inbox and filters spam. See Formspree's Privacy Policy.
- Calendly — handles call scheduling if you choose to book a time. See Calendly's Privacy Notice.
- Google Fonts — we load typefaces from Google's font servers, which means Google may receive your IP address when a page loads. Google Fonts does not set cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Static web hosting — serves the site's pages and may keep standard server logs as described above.
How long we keep information
We keep contact-form messages and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain a reasonable record of our communications, after which we delete them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
How we protect information
Information is transmitted to our site and to our providers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and we limit access to the inbox that receives form submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to provide information through the contact form; if you do, we simply will not be able to respond to that inquiry. You may also ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate; or
- Delete information we hold about you.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the EU/UK GDPR. We honor these requests regardless of where you are located. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their rights. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
We operate in the United States. If you contact us from another country, the information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
Links to other sites
Our site may link to third-party websites and to our own product pages and apps, which have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we do not operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here; please check back periodically.
